“Birgit and I are both horse girls at heart,” says Lotte with a laugh. “We practically grew up in the stables.” The two friends have known each other for more than 20 years – a perfect example of how shared passions connect people and inspire new ideas. Besides their love of riding and their affection for the island of Norderney, the two women share a strong sense of style and quality.

What connects them is more than just similar taste: it is a shared sense of values – appreciation for high-quality materials, durability, and a look that feels both relaxed and refined. From this combination, Friends of Lilly was born: a brand that blends the spirit of Norderney with functional high-performance materials.

For many years, Birgit has been running Strandhaus S10, her boutique concept store on Norderney. She knows exactly which looks women on the island love and what matters most to them in everyday life. Lotte contributes her expertise from the equestrian world: together with her husband Franz – the nephew of Paul Schockemöhle – she built Reitsport Schockemöhle and later Schockemöhle Sports. Working with materials that must be durable, easy to care for and allow freedom of movement is part of everyday life there.

At some point, the two asked themselves a key question: why not combine the functionality of equestrian sports with the comfort people want when traveling and in everyday life? From this idea, Friends of Lilly was born.

At the heart of the collection is a premium travel jersey – a fabric that hardly wrinkles, feels soft to the touch and is ready to wear again in no time after washing. Perfect for active women who travel frequently and value uncomplicated, shape-retaining clothing.
